Fun facts about Dr. Payne
Most memorable travel experiences: I went to Spain in 2016 and finally saw all of the places I have read about and studied through the years. I also visited Havana in 2000 and had an amazing experience.
Person who had the biggest influence on your career: Professor Dr. Eric Harris. He taught me to question the status quo, make decisions for patient care based upon scientific evidence, and to always strive for ideal dentistry.
The funniest thing that’s happened to you since becoming a dentist: I was treating a 4-year-old girl. During the procedure I would say, “Open really wide like an alligator!” She was well-behaved and didn’t make a peep and was a little trooper. When finished, we sat her up in the chair and she started crying and saying, “Meow!” The assistant and I exchanged confused looks and I asked, “What’s wrong? Are you saying ‘ow?’ Does something hurt?” She replied, “Nothing hurts. I didn’t want to be an alligator, I wanted to be a kitty cat!”
Happiest memory: The day I graduated from dental school.
If you could possess one superhuman power it would be: The ability to read minds.
An important life lesson you have learned: Always strive to be your best in all that you do. You can never do enough to engender good willbetween you and other people.
